This is Christine's Shrine, Its pretty much every digital photo I've
taken of her since I got
the camera. If anyone isn't familiar with the name, Christine was the
name of a '56 Plymouth Fury
from the Steven King novel of the same name. A car which is possessed
all the built up anger and malice
from her previous one-time owner after he dies, after selling Christine
to a young fool who dreams of restoring
her to better than original condition, claiming that she was a classic
and that "she could be real tough if
she was fixed up right..." Needless to say possession turns to obsession
for the hapless youth, and the car
sneaks around by itself when no one is watching and "takes care" of
anyone who tries to interfere with the youth
and his gradually degrading personality. Christine has a radio that
mysteriously only plays old car songs on the AM
band, which appropriately is the last thing that the murdered people
heard before they are killed.
Well anyway It's a good read and I was inspired to make something special
out of whatever my first car would be.
In my case it was a '92 Ford Falcon GLi, EB series II sedan. I got
it second hand, totally standard (ie: with power
stearing and air, radio and nothing much else) and have since then
been able to afford to add the following accessories:
